IMPAC

I've just discovered that Little Monsters (still available from all good booksellers) has found its way onto the long list of the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. It's a very long list indeed, but it's still a pleasure to have been nominated (by Stockholm Public Library, no less) and my fingers are crossed for the next stage: the short list, announced on 14 April 2010.

Good luck, Charles. What a long time to wait! At least there's a chance the judges might have time to read the entries, which must improve the odds.

Thank you both. Yes, Anne, I often wonder how much time judges actually spend with the raw material. I know that, with the Lichfield Prize years ago, when a novel of mine was among the final five, they read the shortlist and chose from that...
